The Single Guy....

I was watching an episode of The Single Guy..on USA..and it was the one with Danger Girl...aka Lanie.....it was odd because later in the episode...He, the Single Guy, Jonathon Silverman.asked the doorman , Ernest Borgnine..what he was carrying.........and what was it..??? .A sock full of pennies...in case he has to defend himself...or someone needs exact change....makes ya wonder.....

As a matter of fact, AOL on MACS can't quote. I've already inquired about it. I think I saw it listed in a bug also. We can quote in email, but it doesnt seem to work in newsgroups. cc

apparently you never read my post explaining that this is not a capability on aol (at least not on aol for Macs. Nothing to do with smarts or courtesy either. Or being new to usenet. However, I find the critics to be quite lacking in courtesy.

To stay on topic... it should be noted that Jerry has a MAC and maybe this is why he just lurks and does not post. Now you can do it too, Jerry. :-)

I'm just contributing to this conversation by saying that yes, Macs can copy and paste, but I didn't need to do that because I can automatically quote!

The bottom line is this. How far are you willing to go to have your message understood? If you are responding to a prior post, and you don't attempt to include that prior text, then you run the risk of people reading your post and saying, "Gee, I wish I knew what the hell this guy is talking about."

Seems to be that if being understood is a priority, then you'll go
through the trouble of including the text you're responding to.

I have NEVER NEVER NEVER said I would not put the prior person's stuff in there. I said ONLY that I cannot put arrows in by each line. I can put them at beginnign at end. Not at each line. THAT is what aol3.0for Macs cannot do. Cynth IS GETTING UPSET

Ironic. I hvae gone to great heights to make myself understood just in this one thread alone. My conclusion: People will misunderstand in any case about just about anything. Do you guys hate aol that much? ARe you just putting me on? ENOUGH
