Old references in "The Cadillac"

Did you notice how many references to older shows were made in the 2/8 (The Cadillac) episode? First there was the very obvious reference to the rye bread from earlier this season (The Rye). Second, there was the reference to Mr. and Mrs. Seinfeld's annoyingly uncomfortable sofa-bed which caused Elaine so many back problems a few years ago. Third, there was George telling Jerry that "we had a PACT". This was from "The Engagement" where Jerry and George both agreed that they were going to settle down and get married.

I do remember one more....Elaine's boyfried was supposedly named Art
Vandelai, as in Vandelai industries, the fake latex company that George
said he interviewed for. Giddyup!

One other reference was the "manure" chat in the park between George and Marisa Tomei. George said if you break down the word, you get a "ma" and a "newer", so it isn't such a bad thing. He used the line in the episode where he wanted to go out with the waitress, but she lies about having a boyfriend.

What I liked about the re-use of the story was when Geoge said, "What you think I have material?"

Another reference is the "Art Vandalay" scheme. I think in one of the first episodes, that was the fictitious name of an importer/exporter for whom Jerry and George said they were searching. They used it to enter a law firm where a woman Jerry liked works.

Also, there's "Vandalay Industries," the fictitious company who's considering of hiring George as a latex salesman!

The whole importer/exporter thing sounded really familiar too... I can't remember which show, nor its context, but it has been used.

You forgot the "Art Vandelay" reference, which goes back to the Keith Henandez episode where George tells the woman at unemployment that he interviewed with Vandelay Industries for a job as a latex salesman.

I think the "Vandelay" name has been used in a few other episodes too...

Vendelay Industries! Wasn't Vendelay the name used in a previous episode when George runs out of the bathroom with his shorts down to answer the phone.

Also in "the Red Dot" at the office party George gives Art Vendelay as the name of an author he has read in order to get a job Elaine has recommended him for! What is George's obsession with that name? I hope it is some deep dark secret of his past.
