annoying words (was: Re: Fiance and Dingo)

	my favorite annoying word is "compote" :-)
	but the list remains open (lotsa french words sound so
	bizarre when adopted into english)

	speaking of "fiance", what would be the english for that?
	"betrothed"?  now _there's_ a hideous one!

-sortie -sundry -nimbus -lave -cerumen -any French word in spoken English - fiance included!!
