Here's a thought: They are just pretending to have sex. After all it's only a t.v. show, and although they don't actually show it, maybe their CHARACTERS are using condoms =)

I think she's probably used up a few more over the past few seasons. And I don't think the sponge protects against disease.

I had a public health professional tell me that the probability of a man getting HIV from an infected woman, in one encounter, was 1 in 4000. Now, that is not perfect, but to me that borders on nearly impossible. Risk it? No way! But facts are facts.

1.elaine doesn't always go with str8 guys. in one eposide or two, she has sex with a gay guy, hoping that she might change his sexual oriantation. in the end, she admits that she cannot control the "equipment" that she doesn't own all the time."

2.if you really believe str8 guys don't get aids from hetero sexual contact, you are really in big trouble. bless you.

I would agree that the chance of one of the characters contracting an STD is quite high. It does not matter if Elaine only sleeps with straight guys that do not use IV drugs. Men can contract the AIDS virus from women! If people would wise up, the disease would not spread such as it does. Get educated!

Actually, Elaine did bring over one to "our team" (remember the shortstop?) if only temporarily for one night. After all how could she compete with someone who has that equipment 24 hours a day? :-)
