Best show ever

Hey-

Over the past year or so I have converted from a diehard Simpsons fanatic, to Seinfeld overtaking the number one spot on my favorite shows list. So I figured joining a group like this would be a great way to share my new-found love for the show with other avid watchers. I'd like to find the best one, so I was wondering what (if anything) people knew about this group. How long has it been around? How many members of alt.tv.seinfeld are there? Any sort of nerdy historical information would be nice so I can be sure I am getting info. from the top Seinfeld nerds (no offense, I am one myself) around. Thanks in advance!!!

The group has been around since about 1992 but there is nobody (I believe) here now that was in there then - in fact, by some of the recent posts, I think some of the present members weren't even born then. :-)

But there have been a lot of people who move in for a year or so and then out again - a few will lurk and come back in for a post now and then.

One of the reasons is that, because the show is now in syndication most of the topics get repeated in the cycle. So the topics becom3e repetative.

What I am impressed with is the number of international members that are here now. Showing that "Seinfeld" has a worldwide appeal.

So am I. I've just realised one of the reasons Seinfeld will always reign supreme over shows like Friends for me. In both shows the characters screw up. In Friends it's for the best, in Seinfeld it's always for the worst! In Friends their friends support them, in Seinfeld they laugh!

OT but... Mainly the Finns are excited, that a third level hockey series from Finland gets this much attention in Canada. Some players commented, that she won't get any special treatment (good or bad), but it would be embarrassing if they got beaten by a woman. Still the tempo of game, even at this level, is so high that there's no time of checking if the opponent has lipstick on or not. Tomorrow is the first game where she appears and WTSN shows it live in Canada.
