What the hell is going on here?

Hi Seems to me I can count on only one funny line per episode now. Kramer sitting on Jerry's couch reading his VCR manual. "We can't all be reading the classics professor" that was truly funny. Bagel strike, Festivus, fake phone number, Elaine's crazy hijinx to get a sub card back? All fluff....With five minutes left in the episode, I was looking at the clock thinking, "When is this show over?" I feel really bad that a show that provided me with so many belly laughs over the years has fallen so far. Oh, and what was the deal with Jerry's date? One minute she had makeup on, the next she didn't...(huh?) I just couldn't see what was funny about that...even the laughter from the audience sounds like some old M*A*S*H re-run. cya Gordn P.S. Probably, a lot of people are asking "Why watch the show then?" Well, it's a lot like watching a car crash in slow motion. You know what's going to happen but you just can't look away.

It was "We can't all be reading the classics, professor eyebrow" I think. Truly funny!

I'm sorry to say that I must agree with this post.

Anyone who says that the 12/18 episode is a classic...what were you watching?

Seinfeld is nothing at all like it once was. Any of the "average" episodes from years ago beats this years's hands down. 12/11 had a glimmer of the old show. The backwards show gets points for its inventive idea. Other than those two, this season has been a wipeout.

THE REAL TEST:

I can watch some of the old episides over again for the 10th time, and they're still hilarious and fresh. I would not waste 30-minutes watching any of this year's episodes even a 2nd time.

The Seinfeld staff has lost it. They do not know what's funny anymore. Too much money. Too much power. Too many lost people, especially Larry David. And maybe too much time in LA.

My 2 cents:  'Festivus' was absolutely inspired.  If the rest of the
season's eps are as well written as this one, it would be a crime
for Jerry not to keep going next season.

I thought it was an okay episode. About the girlfriend and her make-up. I didn't get it either. I wondered if they were saying that her face somehow magically changed from one moment to the next. But then Jerry mentioned lighting. I think they dramatically changed how we saw her to let us know that Jerry's view of her had switched. If she looked the same and Jerry said she looked different in bad lighting we'd be saying she didn't look that different. The magical changes were to point out that she looked different from Jerry's perspective.

I also must agree with the original post. I keep reading every week the same lines: "This one was a classic."

Please, anyone who has seen every season of Seinfeld knows that this season is by far lagging in humor. Sure, each episode this season has had its moments. But, overall, each ep. has truly been a dissapointment.

I have a request to make....let's not use the term "classic" so loosely.

I agree. This season is downright embarassing! I'm about to give up watching the new ones.

Its kinda like when Andy Griffith went to color.

The perplexing thing about that to me was that it's hard to imagine that Jerry would have gone out with her again once he had seen her as the ugly girlfriend, even knowing that there was potential that she would sometimes be the attractive girlfriend. It doesn't fit his character.

This may be going overt everyone's heads, but in TV Guide, it listed two different people as playing the Two-Face, but in the credits at the end of the episode it listed one person.
