Art Vandelay (?)

We all know this fake id that George uses occasionnaly. I would like to know in which episode was the first reference made to Art Vandela (I am not to sure of the spelling). Thank you.

Wasn't it the Stakeout episode, when George and Jerry are in that business building waiting for the girl Jerry met, and they said they were here to meet Art Vandelay? -josher

Remember he began with George:Burt, Har Jerry:Burt Har? George:Yeah Burt Har, Burt Harbinson. Jerry:It sounds made up. George:No good? Ok Art, Art Core... Jerry:Art Core? George:Core.......delay Jerry,"delay? Ok what does he do George:He's an importer -Later when introducing himself he states that he is there for Art Vandalay and he is an Architect. The first time I've heard him refer to himself as one.

I May be totally wrong here, but from all the "Re:vanderlay" subjects people have writen about, no-one's mentioned from "the Cadillac" when George wants to go on a date with Marrisa Tomei {or whatever her name is} , and he has to think of an excuse with elaine for where he is if susan asks, and george makes up the name "art Vandelay" , being Elaines boyfriend, an importer/exporter, and that he's visiting him to discuss the giving up of the exporting/importing and only focussing on one of them.

I'm not sure whether this is the first mention of this guy, but I just wonder why no-one else has mentioned it before!

Yeah...I think that was the first one where George got to pretend he was an architect.

It was definatly episode one : where George makes the first mention of "Vandelay", in this case it was Art. NOT the pilot episode titled the seinfeld chronicles, but the series premiere....
