How many girlfriends did Jerry have?

probably about 150 because he had a new one almost every week right? i wonder what the real number is though

I've counted and he's had encounters (dates, wanting to date) with 71 girls.

thats it really i thought it would be a lot more thats cool that you counted lol peace

No offence but I would have thought in reality there's a fairly large distinction between girls you want to date and girls you've actually dated.

How do we count Jerry's 2-episode emotional "encounter" with Keith Hernandez ?

     Here's a good approximate count. We know of two semi-extended
relationships (about a month with Meryl, the character played by Courtney Cox
in 1993; and a summer's engagement to Jeannie, played by Janeane Garofalo, in
1996,). There are maybe a couple dozen episodes where no girl is present or
referred to. That brings us to maybe three dozen episodes with either no girl,
or a long-term girlfriend. Subtract that from 180 total episodes, then add
Elaine as the pre-series, semi-long term girlfriend, and that means he had at
least 145---plus whatever college or early adult relationships he had
beforehand that don't form part of the series universe.
     By comparison, neurotic George had far fewer, but longer and more
sustained, relationships. It's hard to think of George as the "normal" one, but
in the Seinfeld universe, that's just what he was, at least when it came to
romantic relationships.

Try again. I've made apretty extensive count and the number is much closer to 71 or 72 girlfriends. Of course I'm using the count of 169 episodes. He basically had a different interest every other episode. So counting those extended relationships that put him at 71 or 72 girls. The only reason I'm not saying definitely is because of the varying defintion of girlfriend. Myu point is through an exhaustive search,Jerry had 71 girls as possible girlfriends. I can name name ! (if you this that is necessary) By the way, my count on George is 59 girls.
