The opening credits

I was watching tonights rerun and I noticed something. The opening credits read as follows:

        Jerry Seinfeld
        Julia Louis Dreyfus
        Micheal Richards
        and Jason Alexander as George

Does anyone know why George is the only character name mentioned in the credits (besides Jerry, that is) while the others are listed by only their real names? The episode is from season 5. I'm not sure if the the shows from this season are listed this way because this is the first time I've paid attention to the credits, since I know who they all are anyway. Any ideas?

Alexander has a better agent? He's also marginally more famous than the other two non-Jerrys.
