That's true. However, I have seen some Seinfeld websites that claim that not *every* episode has the reference. Yet, I see others that claim the contrary.
I think it's quite a task to find out the true answer, as i'd rather just watch the show and laugh than look in the backround for clues. But when I hear the dialogue and a reference to Superman, I always say to myself "aha! there's another one".
It's officially not true. About 30-40% of the episodes either mention Superman or show Jerry's refrigerator magnet in the background. But this, as with many other Seinfeld rumors, is just that---a rumor.
I know because I, like many, have every episode on tape. My wife and I watched every single episode (in order) with the sole intention of finding the Superman reference or magnet.
Good question, though.

I have also checked for Superman references or physical presence and by my count Superman is there in one form or another in 123 of the 169 episodes. This works out to about 73% of the shows. Of course 73% is not EVERY show as the myth goes!!
Are you referring to physical references (figure on bookcase, pics on fridge) or does this also include comments such as "Bizarro" and some others. Just curious. You'd have to be a die hard Superman fan to pick up other references you can't physically see.

With all due respect, Mike, you heavily edited my response to the original question, and made it appear that "that's true" was my definitive answer. I pointed out in that same post that many Seinfeld websites had conflicting info on whether a Superman reference was in every episode or not.
The FAQ's do not mean diddly to me, because as a frequent newsgroup visitor, there are alot of "official FAQs" that are just plain wrong and do not get updated to correct their mistakes.
This is not meant to be a flame, but this is the second time in two days that my posts have been picked apart and criticised, and I can take *constructive" criticism, but nitpicking on a few technicalities is rather lame. Let's see... alt.tv.seinfeld gets 25 posts or less a day, and I accidentally post a binary, and i'm scolded for it... mmmkay....
Then i'm told to read the FAQ's, which..uh.. are *not* listed anywhere here. Any newsgroup with a FAQ usually has them posted once a week to remind people of the proper ettiquette for the newsgroup.
