Over spring break, I met two huge Seinfeld fans, and they kept saying this one quote and I can't place the episode. It goes: "The best Jerry, the best!" Does anyone know where this is from? Thanx -Chris

That's from the episode, "The Soup".
Jerry sees a fellow comedian, Kenny Banya, who offers Jerry a new Armani suit,since he can't fit in it anymore. "I've been working out...I'm huge." In turn, Jerry offers to take Banya out for a meal. They end up in a nice restaurant, Mendy's, and Banya only orders soup, because he's not very hungry. Banya says that the food at Mendy's is, "The best, Jerry, the best!" Banya believes that Jerry still owes him a meal, since he only had soup, but Jerry can't stand the guy, and insists that "Soup is a meal!"
Banya has appeared in a couple of other episodes since then.

It first appeared in "The Soup" (not "The Soup Nazi", although it appeared there, too) and it was said by Kenny Banya, a bad comedian who gave Jerry a suit and expected Jerry to take him to dinner in return. Jerry didn't want to take him to dinner because he didn't like the guy, but he did anyway. Banya orders soup, and Jerry thinks the debt is paid, but Banya says that soup isn't a meal and he expects to be taken to dinner again.
I think the quote: "The best, Jerry..." is Kramer commenting on his Cuban cigars.

I believe it was Kenny Banya talking about the soup sold at the Soup Nazi's shop.
'He's got the best soup in the city, Jerry. The best Jerry, the best!!'
But for some reason I think he also used the same basic wording when talking about Mendy's restaurant. Don...
He probably did. Banya also uses it in the restaurant when Jerry runs in to him in the protege episode. "The lobster here is the best, Jerry! The best!"
Yeah, and on top of those, it is actually said by Elaine in the episode with Bette Midler. She is describing the manicures at the shop she goes to, and says "They're the best, Jerry, the best.", almost in parody of the notable Banya phrase. -VR

Interestingly enough, I have found many references to either spelling, but the credits from the show simply say "Kenny". Is there a definitive spelling? Anyone? Kenny?

It's from several episodes being said by "Kenny Banya" talking to Jerry about various things, specifically (in one episode) the soup at Mendy's...(a restaurant in that episode)

Nope, he refers to the soup as "the best" also. And it's Mendy's not Mindy's.
