Fans discuss technical methods for converting Seinfeld episodes to DIVX format for VCDs, with suggestions for encoding software and dimension specifications.

I am looking to reconvert the seinfeld episodes I have to DIVX for VCDs but I need some help.

I have heard the same dimensions(for lack of a better word) can be attained as the ones I have made for RM.

any help would be appriciated

Get something like the standalone panasonic encoder (ver 2.5) or the program TMPGenc.exe (plus english patch). The latter is very good freeware and can be used to make vcds from avi files, and the former can be "found" on some sites around.

You may need to use something like virtual dub to convert the divx avis into "proper" avis first, but I dont know.

I have recorded from TV using VirtualDub at 352x288 the VCD standard. It was then AVI format. I used Panasonic MPEG Encoder to convert the AVI to MPG (VCD). Then edited the MPG's taking out the commercials using M1-edit.

I think the VCD standard is 352x288 pixel resolution.

What I have understood is that DIVX is a codec used by encoding pro- grams to create DVD quality screen size compression. Haven't worked with that yet!
