Both programs outranked The Xfiles (often Fox's highest rated program). The Simpsons gained a 6.9/13 rating for "Homer's Phobia" and King of the Hill got a 6.9/12 rating for "The Order of the Straight Arrow."

It was about homo-phobia. The Simpson's meet a guy in a "used stuff" store who charms the whole family with his enthusiasm. Homer wants to have him over for dinner and then finds out from Marge what was obvious to every- one else - the guy's gay. Homer refuses to have contact with him but the rest of the family goes out for an afternoon with him. Now Homer thinks he has to de-gay Bart so he takes him deer hunting and ends up getting attacked by reindeer. Guess who saves him - the guy dude.

Did anyone else notice when Smithers ran into John during the episode? Certainly makes Smithers look like a true homosexual rather than a straight (or once straight) man with an infatuation with Burns. Comments anyone?

Saw the piercing one. Was very witty. I wish I'd been taping. I'm a big fan of the little bits while they run the credits, good stuff. I liked the one where he talked about being partially nude.
