I for one thought this was a really good episode! It was cool at the end how that guy got fired for messing up.

I hope to see more good episodes like this in the future! I think next week's episode looks cool, too! Also, it was funny when Bill was trying to slide on a trash can lid, and Boomhauer said something, what was it that he said? It was something about Antartica.

So, what did everyone else think about this episode?

Did anyone catch the population on the Arlen city limits sign? I think it was over a million. If that's true, it would rule out Austin & its suburbs.

That's within the city limits. You got lots of folks who don't want to have deal with city taxes and services down there. And it seems to be a bedroom community for some city like Waxahachie, Corsicana, Granbury or Hearne.

On the other hand, at the beginning of this thread someone actually noted that although this is a cartoon AND fiction(but now confirmed), the discussion would continue.

As for where Arlen is, I keep going back to the college or university. Which would be close? I also wonder about somewhere near Arlington, on the outskirts of what that is now(been about 15 years since living in Ft. Worth but even then it did not take much of a drive to be in wide open spaces).

Two things to consider here. (And yes, we're going to "discuss inconsistencies on a fictional show". If you think overanalyzing everything is out of place here, then you're on the wrong worldwide computer network. :-) ) The official city limits may enclose only a fraction of what you see. Also, the population on the sign is as of the most recent census, which was back in 1990. Arlen could've had a boom since then. :-) (Maybe Sematech opened a plant nearby?)

Or they opened a rubber minner & worm factory...(;-)
