They didn't pre-empt KOTH. They showed preliminary results at 9:00 on FOX news. Then they went into some special programming on the election that I couldn't bear to watch. So I didn't find out until this morning what the results were. And you know what? Despite not being glued to the election coverage last night, the world didn't even end. And I am none the worse off for not having found out the results last night.

I think he said they pre-empted it for election reports, then showed it at 1 a.m. that night, which he recorded and watched the next day. They have pre-empted _King of the Hill_ in Baltimore for a news special about a fire in progress, requiring a fast switch of antennas and channels to Washington, so there's nothing inherently wrong with his story, especially if he lives on the west coast and the first reliable returns were coming in. It would be a lot odder if he lives on the east coast. I would have been happy to give up a *commercial* on _King of the Hill_ to hear governor-elect Jesse Ventura's victory speech, though I was certainly content to wait for it until the evening news.
Fox headquarters may have records of which stations broadcast the show when.
