That was just supposed to be an example of something they COULD do. I have not heard of anything being in the offing. Shows have replaced live actors before with other actors playing the same character. Barney and Betty Rubble were also voiced by more than one person.

I read an interview with Kathy Najimy about a year and a half ago. In that interview she said she would be loyal to KOTH as long as they wanted her. She said that she was hired for the part when she was 6 monthes pregnant and could'nt find work, so she was grateful for it, and claims she won't leave unless they ask her to. I don't know if it means anything, but I just thought I would share.

Well, during the classic prime time first run of the Flintstones, (1960-66) Betty Rubble was indeed voiced by two actresses (Bea Benaderet (Sp?) was the first, and IIRC, the 2nd was Gerri Johnson), but Barney was voiced by Mel Blanc for the entire run. Some confusion may arise becuase Mel used a different voice for Barney in the early episodes.
My understanding was that Blanc was laid up for a time, and had a replacement.

Could be, news to me, haven't seen that credited... Of course, after the primetime run, all characters were voiced by a variety of people with the exception of Wilma, who UIAM was always voiced by Jean Vander Pyle, who died earlier this year.
Well, it took a bit of digging, and a few false results labelling Blanc as the only voice from the PrimeTime run, but yes, you are correct. The odd voiced Rubble from the early days was indeed Daws Butler, who filled in for Blanc after a car accident.
I have a feeling that it was an uncredited replacement... but then I'm not batting too well on this topic!
