Man, if this keeps up, I'm going to be very impressed with KotH. "Texas City Twister" was another masterpiece from the crew, with a great combination of drama and visual and verbal gags to keep one watching this.
The plot is set up quie well - all very reasonable and believable. It's nice to see more of Luanne's backstory to understand how she came to live with the Hills, and she was handled quite nicely in the story, with a good conclusion to her story. The trouble between Hank and Peggy was also well developed, and I liked the way it turned out.
It's interesting to note how *little* the torandos affected the plot - once the troubles started between Hank, Peggy, and Luanne, the torando was merely a plot device, and used quite well (EXCEPT THERE ARE NO EYES IN THE CENTER OF A TORANDO!!!! ;-) This was partially due to the fact that the torando wasn't damaging any of the major character's property, save for the trailer. I myself have lived at the northern end of Torando Alley in the midwest, and I know that I'm terrified of torandos - this show made me forget all that, and feel for the characters and laugh at the jokes that the torando brought up, as opposed to shivering in fear at them. Excellent job here.
Comic timing on this one was superb - jokes were set up well (I espically liked Dale's role in this one), and were executed well. The trailer untipping scene was especially funny, and Dale, facing the torando, then suddnely driving off when a drop of rain hit the windshield, was a ROFTL moment. And then, with Bobby trying to test the egg through the wall theory as the torando struck the trailerpark - that took a lot of the tension away from the storm.
Characters were in top-notch form in this one - not one of them were really out of character for any scene.
The animation in this episode was also quite well done - while KotH tends to have quite a few scenes without major movement, this one had much more than its share of action scenes, and the quality of the animation for this show was quite good.
And once again, PLEASE NO MORE BOBBY IN UNDERPANTS! AIE!!!!!!!!!! :-)
Overall, yet another well done show of KotH. Great plot and resolution, great jokes with great timing, and good drama between the characters. The potential plot pitfalls that the writers could have fallen into were well avoided, and this didn't turn out to be Yet Another 'Twister' Parody. Excellently well done, and not much more to say about this. Grade: A/A+
