I like it too.Here is what I am wondering... In the last episode,Peggy and Hank decided to have another baby,and since then,they have had 12 negative pg tests, so then 12 monthes have passed since the last ep.That,along with Luann's hair,would lead me to believe that a year has passed in the Hill household.So is Bobby thirteen now?

While Luann's hair would lead me to believe that at least 3 or 4 months have passed, I don't believe you can only take a pregnancy test only once a month. I recall seeing them add several more litmus papers to the scrapbook in last night's episode, despite the fact that only a few days passed during the episode.

How do we know only a few days passed in last night's ep,it could have been a month.For Luann's hair to grow that much,from a crew cut to chin length,it would take longer than a few monthes. Not that it much matters,just something to argue about.

I believe on average, hair grows at 12 inches per year. My hair grows a little slower than that, but my wife's has definitely grown that much in the last year.

I think last night's episode only covered a few days because I don't see Hank putting up with having Cotton in the house for several months.

Any bets on whether Dee Dee is really having Cotton's baby?

Anyone notice how the babies in the show all have the same haircut and facial features as Bobby?

I don't think the ep was several monthes,maybe 6 weeks.I don't think it's cotton's baby,and I noticed that all the babies looked like Bobby.

Bobby had his twelfth birthday during the first season; and at that time Joseph was being drawn to look a little older and to have had experiences (like having been kissed) that Bobby hadn't yet experienced. Joseph's next birthday (which I would have guessed at the time was his thirteenth) maybe three months later, making him either nine months older or three months younger. I year later I vaguely recall a reference to Bobby's birthday passing uneventfully, but I'm not sure of it. But after that, Connie once remarked to Bobby, "Bobby, we're twelve."

In the very first episode, it had been mentioned that Nancy had been seeing John Redcorn for twelve years for her migraine headaches. Over a year later, when Peggy went to John Redcorn for her tension headaches, Hank mentioned that Nancy had been seeing John Redcorn for thirteen years now for her migraine headaches (the implication being apparently that he wasn't doing her any good, though migraine headaches are an entirely different animal from tension headaches, and don't respond well to treatment).

Time is certainly passing, but it is cartoon time. If Luanne's hair is actually growing this fast, it is a little remarkable, though there is also the possibility that she is wearing a wig. On the other hand, it took her all summer to get out of the Mega Lo Mart building after the explosion. Over a week passed _during_ the very first episode between the time Anthony's supervisor talked to Bobby Hill on the phone and the time he came to visit Peggy. So sometimes cartoon time moves slowly and sometimes it moves quickly. I don't think there is much significance to the number of pregnancy-test strips, because an early negative would certainly not be definitive. But twelve strips might well indicate a couple of months. Didi on the other hand looks to be seven or eight months pregnant, and she didn't "look" pregnant at all the last time she appeared.

The Army-sergeant as barber tells me that there is not a tight connection between cartoon practice and real-life practice. The one doctor's pointing out that the infertility problem was Hank's fault without having done a sperm count that formed a plot item in a later episode tells me that continuity is not a major priority on the show. And the Hollywood and who-died promos tell me that they are not above playing with us.

The one new piece of "evidence" this episode is that Hank's sperm count, though low according to the doctor, may well have been high enough to make Hank the biological father of Bobby, despite Bobby's resemblance to the young Bill Dauterive and his lack of resemblance to the young Hank Hill. So the entire discussion of in-vitro fertilization may either have been a red herring or may have been planted for a future episode about someone else's fertilization.
