Did I miss something or did KOTH just sort of skip through a 6 week time period? In the season premier Peggy was put into a body cast for 6 weeks... last Sun. she was out and ready for physical therapy... WTF? It's not like Peggy is so important to the show we couldn't have done without her for at least a couple of weeks. Although I did enjoy watching Cotton make her crawl around.

You didn't miss anything. Time is a little nebulous on the show. Except for the first couple of weeks, Bobby has been twelve the whole time, yet at least two annual yearbooks have apparently been published at his school during the time since Connie moved in. Didi has had time to produce a baby, though it took about ten months of real time to cover the last half of the pregnancy. Luanne got a two-year growth of hair in about three months, but it jumped around a little, as if the episodes were shown out of order. Nancy Gribble is supposed to have produced a thirteen-year-old son as a result of a twelve-year-old "affair". I suspect that absolute time isn't to be analyzed too closely, just relative time in the sense of what came first.

Well, last year's season finale (Peggy jumps from plane, hits the ground) and this year's season premiere (Peggy survives fall, gets put in body cast) pretty much happened back-to-back in KOTH time, even though three months passed in our time.
Think of those six weeks Peggy spent in her body cast as having occurred during our summer break, and that the show has "caught up" to our time.
Of course, those six weeks have potential for some great "flashback" episodes...
