This weekend I was walking around in NYC (tourist -- I don't live there) and saw a chuck wagon that had a drawing of Hank Hill on the side saying: "That would go really great with a shmeal." [It's really funny if you actually try to envision him saying that.]
Is there really such a thing as a "shmeal", a couple of Net searches didn't find anything.

Well, it's "schmear" referring to a mushy three tablespoons or so of cream cheese.
The fictional Mr. Hill was born here, but raised in TX. No doubt his parents kept the real spelling of the word a dirty little secret. ;-)

It must have said Shmear meaning cream cheese (like on a bagel).
