My father's family hails from Tennessee and it scares me that I can pick a relative for every character on King of the Hill. You've got my uncle Ott (Hank), Uncle Sheryl (Boomhauer) and my father (Dale). Very scary! Anyone else notice any similarities between their family and KOTH cast?

I have to admit, my Dad has a hint of Hank Hill in him.

Just be glad you're not like me. My father makes Dale look sane.

Better him then Dale. Trust me I know!
I think everyone's dad has a dash of Hank - that's what makes this show great. Now a few years ago I had a boss who had more than just a hint - right down to an obsession with lawn perfection and "Ah tell you what."

Joya, I appologize in advance, but I have to ask. Do you run around with like, no clothes on all the time like Luanne. hehe...
Jeff
No, Jeff.
I don't. But I do have blond hair like she does. :)

Hi, all!
I got the new TV Guide today. And here's some spoilers they did for the new season of King of the Hill.:
The new season is going to start Sept 21st. A tornado hits Arlen and goes to a nearby trailer park. Meanwhile Hank and his family try to cope with everyday life. Hank has to entertain a client from Boston, while Peggy takes a job as a subsititute teacher.
Bobby, however, in this season, buys a gun, makes the school wrestling team and has to wrestle a girl. He also becomes a model for husky boys' clothing. And Kahn, the Loation neighbor will have a big part in the next season as well.
For a Christmas Special, Hank's Mom Tilly, comes to visit along with her Jewish boyfriend. Hank goes temporarly blind after walking in on them during a 'passionate moment'. Sally Field appears next season in too, plays a fundeumentalist who believes Halloween is Satanic and shouldn't be celebrated. Green Day makes an appearance on an episode as a garabe band. And Hank tries to shut them down.
Cool, huh! That gives us fans something to look forward to! I was suprised that they didn't say nothing about Luanne and what's going to happen with her. I guess what happens to Luanne next season is another story for another day! :)

Yes well there are going to be 22-25 episodes next year (I'm assuming). Plenty of time for character development for all their characters. TV Guide pointed out about 5 or 6 of the "highlight" episodes. I'm very much looking forward to "Texas City Twister." Should be an exciting one.
BTW, anyone see the TV Guide foldout with Hank Hill?

Yeah, and unlike other centerfolds ... I don't care where the staples fall. =)

Well, I doubt all the world is as rabid and anxious for KOTH tidbits as we are. Probably had to make room for expanded coverage of "Ross and Rachel: Will they, or won't they?!"

You're one up on me. I have watched one episode, but only one, and that was because there was absolutely nothing else on. I enjoy watching dumb sitcoms while eating supper. A feeling of smug superiority is good for the digestion.
I guess the question is, which one of you has got the best handle on the smug superiority thing? Get back to us, won't you?

Well... how about 'KOTH & Your Neighborhood?'
I live in Ohio and the bubba factor here - thickheadedness, infatuation with yard tools, etc - is off the scales. Every male head of household here seems to 'sell propane and propane accessories, ah tell yuh what', or works in a factory, or something comparable. The Texas accent is replaced with a characteristic monotone Southwest Ohio appalachian flavored white trash drawl that has no authentic regional character.
The only thing is, where I live (lebanon, oh) Hank and Peg would be marked as an intellectual couple and would be somewhat ostracized for being same. They'd have no friends here.
As far as Dale or Boomhauer... I'd love to find anyone around here that <interesting>. I doubt anyone within 2 miles of me even knows what a conspiracy is...
Ah tell yuh what.
