LuAnn Platter-$4.99 at "Luly's"

Well,being a Texan,I do eat at Luby's,or Luly's as it is known in Arlen.I went there a couple of weeks ago,and I had my usual.The LuAnn Platter,entree,two sides,a bread,and iced tea,all for 4.99.Then it hit me,Luann Platter! I never made the connection before,although I should have.It just shows you how much of Texas is really in that show. As for the wheres Arlen debate,I have that one figured out.It's in the Austin area,a little town called Elgin.If it's not that town specifically,then it's in that area.I guess it would be considered South Texas,but I think it's more like central.They say anything below San Antonio is south Texas,but I say no way._I_ live in South Texas,8 miles from Mexico,now that's south baby!

Thus solving the mystery for the rest of us non-Texans as to why Luanne got stuck with the last name Platter. But what I want to know is, what sort of sick people would name their daughter "Peggy Platter"? I mean, really!

Arlen is definitely in Texas. You draw a circle with a center at the deepest point of Belton Lake (at Fort Hood) that goes through San Antonio, Albany, and Garland, and you'll have the area that Arlen floats around. Use it for a dart board and you'll have its location for next week's episode.

I live in South Texas too, about 4 or 5 miles from Mexico and when I first heard Luanne's name, I laughed so hard. It's one of the funniest things I've ever heard. Everyone I tell about it thinks it's really funny too.
