Very few football games run until 7:30, assuming you mean Central Time. World's Funniest will probably run again from 6:00-7:00 and will get preempted regularly.

What I want to know is, how likely is it that both the first chute and the reserve chute would malfunction? Actually, it looked like it was the cords, specifically, that were defective. But regardless, what kind of cut-rate operation was that? And what kind of settlement do you think Hank could get, assuming he and Peggy didn't sign away their right to compensation? You don't have to be strapped to another person, but you do have to be attached to a static line, which basically pulls your chute cord as you are leaving the airplane. They do not give new jumpers the responsibility of pulling their own cord.

There are different ways of doing a skydive for the first time. One is called a tandem jump, where you are strapped to someone else who has a parachute on. There is also a static-line jump, there the top of the parachute is attached to a line that is attached to the plane.. the parachute WILL come out of the bag (it may malfunction after that, but it will come out at least). There is also a method called AFF, where you're accompanied by 1 or 2 instructors who hold on to you until the force of the patachute opening rips you from their hands.
i didn't see the eopisode, only the teaser and heard a lot about it.. but it looks like they took some license with the first-jump idea.
as far as the chances of an accidental, double total malfunction.....so VERY VERY VERY slim... but not impossible.
