Why ain't Buck Strickland in jail?

I re-watched the second half of the "Debbie's murder" storyline last night, and once again, the nagging question buzzed through my brain. Buck tried to frame Hank for murder, right? So isn't he due a spell in the pen? (And, almost as a side issue, wouldn't Hank have all sorts of trouble forgiving Buck and coming back to work for him? Does he love propane THAT much?)

I imagine the job is important, and a job at a company run by a woman whose husband you've put in jail or by a man you won't forgive wouldn't be the ideal job. It's better that Hank should get on with life.
