Someone pointed me to a recent interview with Brittany Murphy (plugging a movie of which I know nothing) where she said something unexpected about the upcoming season of King of the Hill:
"Luanne moved back into the house [with the Hills] this season. For the past 2 seasons, I've been traveling a lot so the people in charge put me in every other episode but now they're developing Luanne's character more."
...I didn't see that one coming. I wonder if this is something that happens at the beginning of the season, or if it's just something they do for a few episodes later on? If they are moving the character back in this season, I'm of two minds about it:
On the one hand, I keep getting visions of Denise Huxtable moving back into the Cosby home with her military husband and his satanic daughter Olivia -- in other words, moving a character back in when he/she moved out years ago is often a perilous (and sometimes network-imposed) decision.
On the other hand, I believe the following: - KING OF THE HILL is in large part about things that annoy Hank Hill. - When Luanne is living with the Hills, Hank gets more annoyed than when she's not living with the Hills. Therefore, - Luanne living with the Hills is good for the show.
I guess we'll see how they handle it and at what point in the season it happens.
