The Ecology Episode

Aired last night, and this time I saw it through w/o flipping back 'n forth to 60 MINUTES during commercials.

The history teacher ecology bug is deftly lampooned. Issuing of an ecology violation ticket for throwing-away a flashlight battery is poignant parody. A popcorn vending city councilman makes the motion to drain the quarry swamp for a new dump where Boomhauer's red '64 or '65 red Mustang resides. Dale and Bill are seen through by Boomhauer as he philosophically tells Bobby that life is too short to holde grudges for more than two weeks.

Well, it is all based on Judge's life experience from here in Austin. Those "twig-boy" Nature-Nazis are running rampant and unchecked in Austin...and are the major cause of rents going up (no construction being done...until VERY recently). In 1992, the rent for a one-bedroom apartment in Austin was about $225.00. By 2000 it was almost $700.00!!!!

And the history teachers at UT are even worse. If you want to learn about history (accurately)...stay away from the University of Texas!
