Am I crazy or do I remember seeing ads that ran between the first and second seasons touting that the Hills would be moving to Los Angeles. Then, it seemed to be forgotten once the second season started. My watching was very sketchy around that time. I don't know if I dreamed this whole thing or if the ads were real but the show's producers changed their mind between seasons. Does anyone else remember this having happened ? It could be the drugs ...

You are not crazy. There was a "press conference" near the end of the first season announcing that the show was moving to Hollywood. This started a series of commercials featuring the "controversy" surrounding the movie, and ended with Fox announcing that, rather than moving the show to Hollywood, the show was moving to...Tuesday nights. (The first season aired Sundays at 8:30, and usually did better than The Simpsons at 8:00, although that was in no small part because NBC had 3rd Rock From The Sun at 8:00 and something like Boston Common at 8:30; Fox figured KOTH was good enough to "go out on its own", but eventually it moved back to Sunday nights.)
