Social Services

Just to give you all a break from the Hollywood thread I will share something I have noticed. There seems to be a lot of resentment from the people who make up KOTH against the Social Service pencil pushers and the trouble they cause. First came the episode where Child Protective services got all over Hank when they thought was being abused. Then we had the drug addict they had to pamper on the job. Now we have Bobby misdiagnosed as A.D.D. (a malady I believe is greatly exaggerated and often used by parents and to control kids they can't handle) Do you see the pattern?

Absolutely!! And I think it's quite in character with the stereotypical "Texas State of Mind", if you know what I mean. Strong on "self-reliance", hostile toward "gubmint interference". The social-service types portrayed in KOTH would annoy alot of Texans (or what alot of people think that Texans are like) on both those counts.

Just another component of the show's general tone, and I think quite intellectually honest within it's framework.
