Review and other miscellaneous thoughts

I didn't think this one was up to last week's levels of hilarity, but it was still a pretty good episode. The highlights for me included Kahn calling Ladybird (the dog) a "slut" and Hank a "psycho redneck." However, I thought the scene where Dale was stung by the dragonfly was unnecessary. (B)

Did You Notice (DYN): ... Dale wears clip-on sunglasses? ... "Kahn" is an anagram of "Hank?" ... Bobby and Kahn Jr. leave the Hills' together, without any of the parents noticing?

Animation goof: In a couple of scenes, the Mack truck logo on Dale's cap disappears. (Jeez, I'm starting to sound like an alt.tv.simpsons regular. Wait, I _am_ an a.t.s. regular. :) I'm still interested in compiling a.t.s-style capsules, though, if anyone is willing to contribute to them...)

Other comments: The episode's title, "Westie Side Story," is a takeoff of the musical "West Side Story."

Kahn's geographic description of Laos is a relatively accurate one -- it is a landlocked country in southeast Asia bordered by Vietnam to the east, Cambodia to the south, Thailand to the west, and China and Myanmar (Burma) on the north. The 1997 World Almanac estimates that it has close to 5 million people now. It is a Communist country, which is probably the reason why the Souphanousiphones defected.

We now know that Peggy is from Montana originally, and that Ladybird is a "pure bred Georgia bloodhound."
