KOTH has been an unfunny ordeal two weeks in a row, now...........do they think that depressing the audience is gonna bring those precarious ratings up? They must be higher than the plane Peggy jumped from!
Man, I sure hope the show remembers that it's more-or-less supposed to be a COMEDY.........and SOON!

I thought it was wildly funny, especially the line about parenting classes. What are you looking for, rude noises and falling down? Did it say somewhere that it was supposed to be a comedy, by the way? It's about life in America, sometimes funny, sometimes sad.
Damn straight! I just about lost it when Cotton went on about "jungle rice"... :)
That and Boomhauer's use for Peggy's body cast...

Hey, I know a guy who doesn't like _New Yorker_ cartoons. I'm guessing you don't like _Daria_ much, either. Have you checked out _The Simpsons_? How did you like _South Park: BLU_?
"Jungle rice", yeah, that was a good one, too. Comedy like that you can't buy in stores.

The South Park movie.........dunno, didn't see it ( not gonna fork over $ just to hear what gets bleeped on the tv show, and there's no one there I'd wanna take a chance on seeing nekkid, either........the alien abduction ep was more than enough )

Daria........well, now, the pain 'n' suffering in that show is played wwaaaayy for laughs.......we're not _supposed_ to relate to those characters the way we do to those in KOTH. They're quite literally stick figures.........not presented as "realistic" characters at all, but cheapo stereotypes. I don't CARE when that teacher's eyes bug out, because the illusion of reality just isn't there ( D herself.....well, she's _more_ real than the others, but she _should_ be, it's her show.....still not up there with the KOTH cast, though........maybe she should move to Arlen, she'd fit right in......." Peggy, that girl just ain't right..." ). KOTH, on the other hand, is populated by folks we _can_ readily relate to, and when they hurt, it hurts to watch..........Bill, for instance, pretty much stopped being remotely funny for me in the ep that had him assuming his ex-wife's persona, and he's gotten worse since then.....he's a screaming mass of jello, a gaping wound on two legs.......I honestly don't like to see him coming, anymore. Honestly, it hurts to see 'im like this........they should either help the guy or kill him, because, in my book, at least, he ceased being comic relief a loooooong time ago!
I know KOTH isn't one'a those anything-for-a-laugh shows like Groening's are............my original post said "_more or less_ a comedy," and I stand by that........it IS supposed to be more or less comedic in tone, like MASH..........if every ep of THAT show had been as painful to watch as the last two eps of KOTH, I don't think it would've lasted as long as it did.........and _they_ were in a war, for cryin' out loud!
The more real the characters, the less amusing it is to see 'em suffer, that's all I'm trying to say..........
I thought it was surprising how serious they made this one, but it was still a great episode. I didn't see the end though, I had to leave early...how did it end?
