Bobby and Connie

You know that their friendship and being neighbors and all will bring on some sort of 'dream sequence' episode one day that will have Hank or somebody dreaming about how Bobby and Connie are dating, married, etc...it is just too inevitable.. zuzu

I don't know about that. So far the writers have been very adept at not only avoiding television cliche's, but also of exploiting them to produce anti-cliched surprises. Consider the storyline where Bobby was modeling. Television convention tells us that when a young person is pursing a dream or ambition in defiance if their parents (especially the father), that a) the parents are wrong, and b) the youth will succeed in a dramatic fashion that will make his parents proud. Except that this isn't what happened. Bobby didn't get to model in the big fashion show and Hank was right (at least within the context of the story). Or consider the recent episode where Hank is competing with an unscrupulous salesman for a propane sale, and he's forced to compromise his integrity. Convention says that when someone who has comrpomised their inegrity has a change of heart and makes a grand speech where they risk everything to restore their integrity, that they will gain whatever it was that they were trying to acheive when they were compromising it. But Hank's big speech to his client *didn't* work. The unscrupulous salesman walked away with the contract, and all that Hank got out of it was the more ambiguous sense of ethical worth.

Given this, I really don't think that they would do a dream episode or, if they did, that they rig it in such a way as to deliberately defy our expectations.

I'm kind of predicting that Bobby and Connie might make a realtionship more than friendship as they get older, if they do get older. :)

That's a good point. Does anyone know if the characters will age? Will Bobby ever get out of Tom Landry Middle School and go to Ross Perot High? Will Luann ever graduate the Salon College?
