Last Friday's episode of KOTH

Wow, what a great final episode of KOTH on Channel 4. Friday nights just won't be the same again - Frasier and KOTH made a great combination, perfect for videoing - until 1999 when they start to show the next series! And what a cliffhanger to end on. I laughed a LOT when Boomhauer phoned up the emergency services.

Which season are we on by now, incidentally?

Channel 4 really does seem to have the monopoly on good imports: why do the other channels only import the very worst?! And I won't even begin to talk about the cable offerings.

If that is so, then why are the bastards at C4 waiting until next year if another season is already recorded and in the bag? Could the dreaded Sky be involved??? Slight misunderstanding here -- the episode you've just seen in the UK is also the most recent episode we've seen here in the States, complete with exploding Mega-Lo-Mart cliffhanger ending. The proposed move to the Hollywood Hills "subplot" that caused so much uproar here was not actually a plot element in any of the episodes; it was a series of teasers shown during the closing credits of several consecutive episodes, purporting to be network announcements of the forthcoming move, objections raised by Hank, updates on "negotiations" to resolve the "controversy," and other intelligence-insulting fare.

Ah, yes, that is the same episode. I have to report to you that the Hollywood Hills debacle was entirely missing from the broadcasts over here, which does explain some of the misunderstandings. From what you say, I'm glad we didn't have to put up with it!

More precisely, it must be a Fox Network thing. The vast intellects who manage such things at Fox decided this would be a clever publicity stunt. Millions of Americans disagreed.

But then, I expect you know what it's like having a television network owned by Rupert Murdoch, right?

The Channel 4 announcer said at the end of the last episode that we'd have to wait until next year for a new series. That's all I was referring to - an as-yet-hypothetical series!
