SPOILERS
Amazing! Simply and utterly amazing! This episode was yet a near flawless episode for the KotH team (Along with the likes of the Tornado episode, Plastic White Female, etc). I'm quite proud to see the show continue as it is.
The way the foursome were intimidated by the younger crowd was well done. I did like the way this developed into the paintball war, and the various tactics by both sides were well played. I also like how Bobby and his friend were relatively iindifferent to the whole thing, even though the war started as a way for Hank and his friends to show off to Bobby.
One of the key things about this episode is the timing. Namely, a lot of the late second and all of the third act had excellent jokes based on timing and jokes. For example, after Hank issued his first challenge, and the kids replied "My car's broke", I expected the adults to walk away - but instead, we get an excellent joke of them fixing the car, then reissuing the challenge. Similarily, the last paintball fight was well done too. This is definitely something that the series has done nearly flawlessly.
Finally, the characterization, while a somewhat minor role, was well done as well. The bedroom scene, with Peggy giving Hank her support, was strong and yet flowed well. The feeling of the years gaining up on the foursome was also believable and realistic. The attitudes of the youths are well within expectionations too, without being stereotypical.
Additionally, I do like how GreenDay were included in this episode, without being in the episode. I do like that sort of cameos.
BTW: save for the lack of cups or groin protection, that is the way paintball is usually played. Also, they would generally have full face masks, but I've seen some that don't.
Overall, perfect on all accounts. Plots, jokes, characters, timing, all perfect. A 10/10, or an A+. Keep it up, KotH gang!
