My server just picked up this NG over the weekend, and I've been lurking ever since. I admit; I'm not a SF fan, so many of of the "Futurama" jokes that are parodies/remakes of previous ones from Star Trek, Star Wars, Battlestar Gallactica, etc. I don't catch right away. But this is a good place to re-cap each episode!
As many have noted, since Futurama & "The Simpsons" are created by the same person, the same kind of humor is used. You have to "be in the know" to catch all the jokes. I enjoy comedy more than SF, so I like Futurama a lot.
One last note: The UPN network is debuting a new animated sitcom this week called "Home Movies". It might be as good as Futurama/The Simpsons- or it might be another "Family Guy". It premieres next Monday at 8:30 EDT. Have to wait & see...
