"Fembot" was also the name given to a series of realistic-looking female killer robots -- like an early version of T-X from "Terminator 3" -- that Jamie Summers and Steve Austion fougnt on "The Bionic Woman" and "The Six Million Dollar Man," respectively. The series made a big deal of this, running a multipart episode that started on one show and continued on the other. The memorable adversaries might have influenced the writers when it came time to name feminine robots.
