Futurama for PS2

Just got it...it's great!!

Much, much better than the Simpson's Grand-Theft-Auto type game. Whatever the heck that was called. That was just damn frustrating, but Futurama is like a great old-school type adventure game. Love it!

I was called "Simpsons: Hit and Run", and I didn't buy it because it got terrible reviews. Didn't stop it storming the Xmas charts though, those damn parents just buy shit for their kids because they don't know any better.

And yes, the Futurama game is really quite good!

Hit and Run got an 8.3 from Gamespot, and an 81 average on metacritic.com. Doesn't sound all that terrible to me. I've played it, and it's a lot of fun.

Maybe he didn't realize that you're allowed to skip a mission (except for the last three, I think) after you fail it five times. (I think you can do that in Futurama as well, but I managed to get through all of them.)

Besides, the REAL object isn't to get through the missions (the storyline is a rip-off of a "South Park" episode), but to get the 49 cards (seven on each level) that let you see the I&S cartoon "500 Yard Gash". The problem is, you have to get through (by completing and/or skipping) all seven missions in a level in order to get to the next level, although there might be a cheat code for this.

I meant Hit and Run, and for a really terrible review (admittedly not on a console), read PC Gamer's (the UK version, the original magazine!) review where they gave it about 40%.

Actually, Hit & Run was a very good game...and these are the first good comments I've heard about the Futurama games. H&R actually got fairly decent reviews while Futurama's were terrible...don't know what source you are using! I'm still waiting for Futurama to come up on my rental queue so I can't comment as to who's correct yet...

I just found Futurama for Xbox at a gamestop outlet near my house. The gameplay isn't great, but it's certainly not the worst thing I've ever seen. If nothing else, the cutscenes (weird cel-shader aside) are worth it, just because they play like an episode :)

And yeah, the graphics are extremely strange. I wonder if they really thought that shader looked like the show :)

(Also, Leela's hair is pink for some reason)

I'd played Simpsons H&R all the way through and thought it was great. I've just started on the Futurama game which seems ok , but not as well animated and the controls aren't as user friendly.

The reason I started this mess is because Simpsons Hit and Run is just too damn hard. It becomes frustrating to an old-timer like myself who longs for the days in video game histoy when you just had to get that damn frog across the road.

Futurama isn't terribly hard; I'm already on the Leela portion and I've been playing just under a week. Granted a Hernia operation coupled with lots of 'down time' and painkillers helped.
