Whats Nibbler doing on earth in 2000?

If you look closely as Fry falls into the cryogenic chamber you can see Nibblers shadow as the chair falls

hey! thats really odd

but it u watch it a few more times, it seems as thought when the door shuts, fry looks at something in the room saying "what the", then conitnues to look at the chamber he has fallen into and then says "uh, oh, aah!"

is this just me or does he look at the nibbler in the room first before he gets frozen???

That's pretty cool. I have a habit of watching a show without thinking (as do many I imagine) so I tend to miss cool things like that. Thanks for pointing it out!

Although as smart as Nibbler and his people were I wasn't aware that they had time traveling abilities.

Or alternatively, we have no way of "precisely" depicting the ageing of Nibbler's race... I know the vet guessed from his tooth but in all reality, it need not have been Nibbler (if indeed he is 5 or whatever it was) or it may have been him, or an ancestor... Either way, you compare the 1ACV01 scene with the shadow and the 2ACV16 Anthology of Interest I scenes then it can be deduced that the abscence of Nibbler from that scene in Anthology prevented Fry from entering the cryochamber... Then again, that was only a what if, and there could have been another factor apart from the Y2K Nibblerish being... )I like that... Nibblerish... Better than Nibblonian.)

Maybe but then why does he not then recognize Nibbler later? But then he couldn't remember what a career chip was so he doesn't have the greatest memory.

Actually at last years Comic-Con he and David X. said strait out that it was there for a reason.

Yea this is really old news. It was old when Nibbler made his first appearance in 1ACV04 and people noticed the resemblance to the shadow in 1ACV01. Back then we watched the same few episodes over and over again and again.

Yes to have the universe end because he wasn't where he was "Destend" to be must mean it's something quite spectacular. I'm sure we haven't seen the end of the brain spawn.

The significance of Fry coming to the year 3000, and the involvement of the Nibblonians is all spelled out in The Day the Earth Stood Stupid. Of course, all this came out after the Comic-Con. Perhaps this is what he meant, and then again, perhaps there is still more to this story.

I assumed that the "Anthology of Interest" episodes were meant to be like the "Treehouse of Horror" episodes on The Simpsons. Again. At Comic-Con 2000 Both Matt and David X. have stated that the lack of shadow was intended to foreshadow. The What-ifs are just that what-ifs of that universe. They are technically cannon since they are directly connected to the real reality not the disconnected Treehouse of Horror episodes that were originally stories told by characters.
