HI all, I'm new to posting to the Simpsons/Futurama scene, so I dont have the form down yet for the DYN's... but heres a few I noticed, that I havent seen yet.... I just noticed that the Statue of Liberty one (ie laser pistol is intro, but holding tube in epidoe) has already been spoted.... Oh Well...
That the man in the poster that says "You Gotta Do What You Gotta Do" has FIVE fingers on his hand, instead of four like everyone else...
That the are TWO seperate floating heads for Grover Clevand. (He was both the 22nd and 24th President of the US. He is the only man to serve two terms as President that were NOT consecutive...
So a guy having five fingers when everyone has four is a gaff, but having a lead character with one big eye is kosher?
That is also not an error. The Grover Cleveland that served as the 22nd president is not the same Grover Cleveland that served as 24th president. The reason for the mixup is because while the Government wanted Grover Cleveland to be in office for two terms, the original one broke down immediately before his election, and they had to use the hastily-assembled Benjamin Harrison (slapped together out of the remains of the old William Henry Harrison, an older clockwork model.. by this time most presidents were steam-powered) for a term until a newer, more reliable Grover Cleveland could be constructed.
Of course, this was hardly the only incident of presidential malfunction. The aformentioned William Henry Harrison was actually supposed remain operational through it's full term... but, due to the harsh weather during the inaugural ceremonies, the big primary spring just rusted right up and was inoperable in slightly over a month.
Another fairly famous incident of presidential breakdown was during the Mondale/Reagan debate, when reagan (one of the first presidents to take advantage of the microprocessor - previous presidents in this century were actually just radios broadcasting signals from the huge mainframes that actually handled presidential processing) had his CPU overheated and he got caught in a "whell" loop for several minutes.. after this overheating incident (caused because an operator decided it was necessary to "overclock" the president if it would have the processing speed and power to function acceptably in a debate), the unit was prone to memory leaks, core dumps, etc... Right now, Reagan is still processing, but has hardly any I/O capacities.
If anything, Groening has proven himself historically savvy to use this as a gag on the show.
Didn't Grover Cleveland win the popular vote anyway, just not the electoral votes? That shows how close it actually was.
Yes, but the loser gave a four hour speech! He didn't deserve to die, but he did deserve whatever came to him (for four hours in the rain, what an idiot.).

I bet they all get together at three in the morning, while over tired and a little drunk, to write it all. Probably in the same room that they created the Star Trek TOS episodes. :-)
