Hi all ,
got the game today...been playing it for a couple of hours it's damn good :) just wondering what anyone else thought of it although I dont think it is out in america yet..not sure and I'm too tired to check :)

Oh... I should say that I played it for about 30 mins. at E3 this year and it was a lot of fun, even if the cel shader is a little quirky. Unfortunately, the shader seems to be designed to doom screenshots to look bad. When you actually play it, though, things look a little better.

Are you guys sure there is no GC version? Today in Electronics Boutique and KMart I saw GC boxes of the game with coming soon stickers.
Personally I dont care I'll be getting the PS2 version.

Only PS2 and XBOX are listed. I do remember a gamecube version being listed awhile ago, so it must have been cancelled.

Does anyone know if there will be a PC version? Argh. I just might have to buy a PS2 or an XBox. Not sure which one. I would get the PS2, but I know people who work for MS and I can get MS titles cheaper...
Anyone know whoch version of the game is better - XBox or PS2? Which console should I get? (Yes, its a sad day when I am getting a console just because the Futurama game has been released for it. I'm sure that my wife will believe me that really is the only reason I want to get a console ;-)

The game is pretty much the same for both platforms but I would suggest getting a ps2 rather than an xbox. Thats just my personl opinion though but I believe the ps2 is a better console with a larger variety of games (including gta3/vice city mmmm) plus I really really really detest the xbox's control pad..not sure why though :)

As far as consoles go, I recommend PS2--it can't hurt to have an extra DVD player.

I got my PS/2 to play games, but one of the selling points was that it could also serve as a DVD player in my bedroom, which previously did not have one.
The Xbox is sort of like, "PLAYS DVDS!" in big type, with "(requires purchase of additional components)" in small type.
Of course, I have both consoles, so why am I complaining?
Which does bring up another question -- given that I have both consoles, anyone have a suggestion which one I should get the Futurama game for? (People have asked which console they should get in order to play the game, but that's a different question...)

It's funny because I bought my PS2 primarily as a DVD player. Sure I could have gotten a cheaper DVD player, but it wouldn't have allowed me to play Plastation and Playstation 2 games. And since my last system was the Sega Genesis I figured it may be time to stop borrowing Playstations from friends when I wanted to play something. I still use it at around 80/20 DVD's to Games.

The thing about PS2's DVD capabilities is you almost have to buy a remote since the controller is simply awful to use to navigate the DVD...that and the fact that DVD wears on the system after a while in the same manner gameplay does. Mine won't read discs anymore, I know many others have the same problem. It was worth it to me to buy a separate DVD just to save wear and tear on the PS2, which is now terminal. Haven't needed to play DVD's on the Xbox, but shortly after I got it (it actually came free with my ISP), I started buying only Xbox & Gamecube in preparation for the PS2 demise...which sadly came soonafter.
Oddly enough, I haven't seen Futurama for either system anywhere, I've checked Toys R Us, Circuit City, Best Buy & Target thus far. I'm thinking I should even wait a few months for the inevitable price drop...

A friend of mine had this problem on a heavily-used PS2 system. Games freezing in the middle of play, etc. What we ended up doing was going to a computer/electronics store and buying one of those compressed air things, opening the disc tray, and giving it several good puffs. YMMV but it's fairly cheap and worth a try.

Also you may want to contact sony. My friend's had issues and they fixed it for free. I think some batches were bad or something. Also beware of Heat. For both systems. Spaces inside entertainment centers are not your friend.
