2ACV05: Love Lobster

Dr. Zoidberg gets the urge to merge as mating season begins on his home planet, so Leela, Fry and Bender escort him back in time for the rituals -- only to have him discover his old flame has fallen for another crustacean.

REVIEW: The best episode ever laden with crusteacean jokes. Looks like they will be more Zoidberg appearances next season.

Funny, they haven't had trouble getting the word "sperm" past the censors in the past. MAYBE... just maybe... "jelly" fit the gag better?

Was it some coincidence that someone wanted to see this exact scene a couple of months ago? The funniest thing was how Fry crossed his legs after Leela made a comment about feeling sorry for 20th century women.

Well, considering that lobters aren't bipedal, can't talk, and lack the opposable thumbs to, say, button a lab coat, I doubt that Zoidberg is a true lobster. Sort of a hybrid of sorts.

Essentially the same words are used by Fields in "Six of a Kind" (1934), except that it's "Honest John" rather than "Honest Bender", and the prosthetic device returned was a glass eye, rather than whatever it was Bender said.
