SYPNOSIS (Canadian TV Guide): Bender gets a roommate of the human persuasion after Fry is kicked out of his living space.

REVIEW: The series is picking up steam in its new time slot. Great character development of Bender.

GRADE: A

BTW, I liked this episode a lot better than the first two. The characters are developing and its finding it's niche. I knew it just needed some time. B

That's odd. Unless I was completely hallucinating... On my TV it said 'In Hypnovision' Perhaps it was the TV station (Global)?

It's more likely a reference to the Isaac Asimov book than the Alan Parsons Project album (both of them favorites of mine...)

Nitpicking... but seeing as how art is my profession, I must correct one of your DYNs and add one of my own. The melted clock was a reference to a Salvador Dali painting, "The Persistance of Memory." There was also another art reference- the apartment with the staircases was a nod to the famous M.C.Escher work "Relativity." Which, coincidentally, has also been used as a Simpsons opening... but of course we all knew that! :)

Ah yes, thank you. I was excited that there were three art references in one episode, and by the end I couldn't for the life of me remember what the third one was! I've always enjoyed the art refs in the Simpsons, too- Munch's "The Scream" and Michaelangelo's "David," for example.
