Futurama and Simpsons in 1984...suggestions?

Hi:

I'm teaching a unit on Orwell's 1984 to high school freshmen. I'd like to supplement it with an episode of either Futurama or the Simpsons, but I'm trying to decide which one.

The forerunner is the "Leader" episode of the Simpsons, unless anyone can convince me of a different episode which would tie in better. It doesn't have to be extremely relevant; a parody would be great but any close references are fine.

Any suggestions?

P.S. I didn't post this to the Simpsons group because there are too many people there. Feel free to cross reference this and report back to me.

Oh yeah, I remember that episode of SCTV. Was that the entire episode, or just a skit? I remember there being a game show or something, and it all happened at midnight on New Year's Eve, right?

That would be perfect. I hope I can track down a copy. It's not on either of the two DVD sets, huh?

No. And since SCTV has never been released officially before, all that's out there are bootlegs ... lots of VHS tapes, from what I hear at alt.fan.sctv. (The DVD releases last year and this year have been the only official releases. Problems with copyrights has been cited as the reason.) -- Christopher Heckman
