First time we've gotten to see the actual end credits and end credit music, since Fox would always cut the music for the ad, and use a half-credit of typed out credits (white on green sans selif font, instead of the show's true fonts.)
The end credit music is different than the opening credit music, too. A different variation.

Why? Do you mean that the closing credits from the first episode are different from those in subsequent episodes (music-wise)? This is fine by me.
However, if you mean that ToonNet will likely start doing voice-overs and other abhorrent crap like that, then they'll be no better than Fox and all the other "big" networks.
I hope I don't have to start hating these people, too!

Syndication isn't usually a problem. Stations are pretty good about running the full-screen credits of a former network show once it hits the rerun circuit.
The squashed credits with optional promos syndrome started in the U.S. in the early 1990s when networks felt too many people were changing channels as the end credits were rolling and those viewers knew that two or three local commercials would follow before the next show started, so unless they felt the next show was a must-see, they'd be more likely to turn off the set or try another channel. The seamless flow of one show into the next is presumed to curtail it.
This season, there are five or six prime time shows I watch regularly in an average week, and one of those is on cable. In the full-credit era there were more. So much for *that* network theory...

That is one of the advantages of catching the network feeds, also they don't have commercials.

This is exactly what I was hoping would happen. I've given up on ever again seeing or hearing the true closing credits on anything broadcast by the "big" networks, but I had a hunch Futurama's credits might slip through now that they're in syndication.
I was mighty glad I was WAVing the episode when the closing credits came on. I've waited over four years to hear them.
Should any fellow geeks care, I'd be glad to convert the WAV to a sufficiently high-quality MP3 (typically 256Kb/s for me) and post it to alt.binaries.sounds.tv-themes. That seems like the appropriate forum.

Done! Uploaded to alt.binaries.sounds.tv-themes shortly after midnight on Wednesday (030114). Anybody who wants it probably should act quickly, since I have no idea how long it will be available.
Two items concerning this file:
1. I originally encoded the file at 256Kb/s (dual stereo), but my news server wouldn't accept it because of its size. I then re-encoded it at 192Kb/s (joint stereo), but it was still too big. The server finally accepted it once I encoded it at 128Kb/s (joint stereo). So, the quality is not as high as I would have liked, but I at least I got it posted.
2. The file is ZIPped. I didn't really do this because of the compression (which was only around 3% for this file), but mainly so that the file can be tested by its recipients.

The Simpsons does it tons of times (ie. Hill Street Blues riff, JFK riff, Middle Ages/Renaissance riff, It's a Mad Mad Mad Mad Mad World riff, etc etc etc.) I wouldn't be surprised.
