last night after the news (11:30 PM) I thought I'd put on Global and listen in the background to SNL as I worked on my computer.
Well wouldn't you know it, I did a double-take as I heard the Futurama theme music - seems SNL's feed got delayed, and they had to put in something.
Not only THAT - but the episode they played was "Luck Of The Fryrish"! And, they kept the commercials to a minimum so the entire episode (minus the final credits) could be shown.
On one hand, I was pretty happy to see this episode. On the Other Hand, I'm still pretty pissed that Global would rather show that pathetic piece of kack Flopstars (which is what that band Sugar Jones will be) than Futurama in its timeslot, and that they're saving Futurama for "in case of emergency" programming. But then again, maybe I shouldn't be surprised - after all Global has the rights to Batman Beyond, and they've slotted that to 3:05 AM Thursday morning...
BTW, the episode rocked. What a great surprise ending! Also loved Fry's dad - "He'd better not steal those bananas, we'll need them when that Commie radiation turns us into monkeys!" (approximate).
