There's only a small pool to choose from, but this topic hasn't been discussed too much yet. What's your favorite episode of "Futurama" so far?

I'm a mixed bag. I'd have to say my favorite is either "I, Roommate (1ACV03)" or "Fear of a Bot Planet (1ACV05)." The former stands out for its relatively down-to-Earth setting, when compared to the rest of the series, and the latter because of its excellent science-fiction undertones. My least favorites are "My Three Suns (1ACV07)," because of the somewhat repetitive writing near the end, and "A Big Piece of Garbage (1ACV08)" because I didn't find it all that funny. Your opinions?

I'd have to go with those too. The former was set up like an almost typical sitcom episode, with plenty of whacky sci-fi touches ("I dunno if we want to pay for a dimension we're not going to use...") If only your average generic NBC sitcom was written this way, I might actually look forward to "Must See" Thursday.

1ACV05 was a perfect spoof of cold-war era paranoia, with the mandatory cheesy propoganda film thrown in. Just set this in the 1950s and call it "Fry and Leela go to Russia".

1ACV08 was a perfectly mediocre episode. There wasn't anything particularialy funny about it, but maybe you had to see Armageddon to get the jokes, I dunno. Does anyone else think it's just so WRONG to know more about Prof. Farnsworth than we do about Leela?

1ACV07 is a better episode, but Fry seemed unusually stupid in this episode--I guess he finally learned his lesson at the end--hopefully.

Most people didn't think it was that impressive, but I really liked "The Series Has Landed (1ACV02)." Years before "Futurama" hit the air, I figured the moon landing site would become a serious tourist trap, and it was cool to see my idle thoughts (sort of) translated to the real-life screen.

Faves: 1ACV08, the Armageddon parody. 1ACV04, Zapp Brannigan.

Both of these had me howling, especially the part where the documentary downloaded from the Internet turns out to be a porno film. Zapp Brannigan had the best lines ("...until you get a craving for sweet, sweet candy...BAM.")

Least faves: 1ACV07, with Fry as the emperor 1ACV06, A Fishful of Dollars

While I thought the crack dispenser was funny, Fry was especially obnoxious and really unlikeable in these episodes. Even when Fry gets beaten up at the end of 1ACV07, it doesn't come across as funny.
