Futurama on the Simpsons!

Anyone else catch the Futurama tshirt on the german kid at bi-mon-sci-fi-con on the simpsons tonight?

We did have the guidebook for the 1964 World's Fair and I saw it around years later. But I have no idea where it is now.

However, one could refer to one of the traditional sources of reference material from the days before the internet: National Geographic. According to the cummulative index, there was an article on the 1964 New York World's Fair in the April 1965 issue.

Trust me, it was there the first time the episode aired. I've got it on tape, too!

The reason it looked superimposed is the same reason why Otto's chest tattoo in "A Streetcar Named Marge" did; it's because the animators didn't want to draw it in every cel, so they just dropped it in as needed with a computer. Same thing happened when Smithers was in the Elvis museum in the baseball episode. I think it was a design of The King on his shirt.

Nope. It was included in the first airing, and is is also listed in the SNPP capsule, which has been up for months. It's not as if no one knew of Futurama when that show aired. Groening has been working on the show, presumbly, for around two years. Not to mention that when Mayored to the Mob first aired, the general public knew about Futurama too. It was already being publisized, so it was hardly hard to catch the first time around. By the way, there was another Futurama reference in The Simpsons. David S. (X.) Cohens name in this years Halloween special was listed as David "watch Futurama" Cohen. Not surprising, since he's the co-developer of the show. This reference was even earlier than the Mayored to the Mob one.

Correction: That was "The Boy Who Knew Too Much"... there isn't even an episode called "Two Vocations"! You must be thinking of "Separate Vocations".
