8/31 *** NOTE SPECIAL TIME*** 7:30 - The Sting (4ACV12)
A giant space wasp attacks Fry with its lethal stinger, but Leela
refuses to believe that Fry is really dead because of it
(Fox is airing its Saturday morning preview at 7:00)
  • SPECIAL NOTE FOR SAN FRANCISCO TYPES: Futurama will NOT be shown at Midnight on KTVU, but at 7 PM on KICU 36 (probably because KTVU can't delay showing the movie as well)
9/7 - PRE-EMPTED in the Eastern and Central time zones by the return
of The NFL On Fox; the west will get "The Farnsworth Parabox"
(Professor Farnsworth creates a gateway to a parallel universe)

9/14 - PRE-EMPTED for the movie "The Lost World: Jurassic Park"

9/21 - most likely pre-empted; the Emmy Awards on Fox, and although
they start at 8:00, expect either an hour-long preview show at
7:00 or a 30-minute preview at 7:30 with The Simpsons moved
       back to 7:00 that night
9/28 - another NFL Football doubleheader; unless Fox decides to show
an episode at 7:30 PM, "The Sting" on 8/31 appears to be the
last episode Fox will air in the east (there should be an
episode aired 9/28 in the west) - baseball playoffs will be
on 10/5 and 10/12, World Series game 2 on 10/19, and either
an old Simpsons Halloween episode or World Series Game 7 on
       10/26

FUTURAMA: THE VIDEO GAME - ONE MAN'S REPORT SO FAR I just got a copy of the Futurama video game for PS2, and after about two hours of play, I've managed to get through the first level (Fry finds the Professor's tools) and what seems to be most of the way through the second (through the sewers). However, I have noticed two somewhat significant flaws in the game: one, sometimes it is almost impossible to get the screen turned to face the same direction Fry does, which can be a real pain sometimes (in the sewer levels, where Fry climbs down that ladder, you pertty much have to guess where Fry is jumping after turning the second wheel - fortunately for me, another "feature" worked in my favor, documented below); two, either I'm missing something significant, or you can't save the game in the middle of a level, even though there are "checkpoints" (you return to the last checkpoint you reached each time you die). (And has anyone else on occasion had problems with the aiming? Sometimes, I press R1 and the targeting light points to, say, a box, but when I shoot, the shot goes right over it.)

There is one thing that can be used to your advantage: try to get to a checkpoint with 24, 49, 74, or any other number one less than a multiple of 25 "dollars". When you reach a checkpoint, your money total is saved, and each time you start a new life, your money total returns to what it was when you reach the checkpoint, so if you have, say, 5 lives, die, start again with 4, and get one dollar, you gain an extra life immediately - and the next time you die, once again you only need one dollar to get an extra life.

And why is Leela's hair a lighter color than it usually is?

Don Del Grande, [email] What do you MEAN, there's no cheat code that makes Amy show up as a hidden character?

I agree about the camera, it can frequently be annoying. If you press L1 it will usually reset to right behind you character, but it's not foolproof. Also, it's sometimes easier to make a jump if the camera is at a 90 degree angle to the direction Fry is facing, as long as you can move it back far enough to see your destination.

You're not missing anything, you cannot save in the middle of a level.

Yes, if you are very close to a box, your shot will usually miss even if you have it targetted. Move back a bit and it should hit.

There are actually a couple of areas where you can do what you describe above, and then go on and get 25 more dollars before the next checkpoint. By doing that, you can gain 2 lives, die, and return to the checkpoint one life up from the total you were at before. It's easy to rack up lives like that.

It got bleached by the sun. You'll see what I mean later in the game.

I haven't seen it, so I was assuming the standard 2 hours. Which was a mistake, since it doesn't take commercials into account.

I believe FOX paid a record amount for the rights to this movie for TV even before it was released in cinema. I guess that want their money's worth.
