As we now know, in the year 3000 there will be a monument to the 60th president, Fxjkhr. I have been wondering when this entity will become president.
All the available informatation is found in 'A Head in the Polls'. From this episode we learn three important facts.
First, that presidents of the USA are considered part of the same line as presidents of Earth. We know this because Richard Nixon is considered to have already served two terms. It is possible that he had served additional terms as president of Earth as a head in a jar, but very unlikely, since no robot would vote for a head in a jar with no robot body, and no human would vote for Nixon.
Second, that presidents (both of the USA and of the Earth) are limited to two elected terms in office, the same as is the case today. The reporter at Nixon's news conference brought this fact up.
Third, that election day was not long before Xmas of 3000, since this was the episode just before 'Xmas Story". This is consistent with the current 4-year election cycle. Together with the first two facts, this suggests that the average length in office of future presidents should not be much different from the established historical length in office.
The current rules were established during Harry Truman's presidency, so the historic length in office is 5.5 years (55 years / 10 presidents) in the period from Truman to Clinton.
Now, Fxjkhr is the 60th president, including the presidents of the USA, and Clinton is the 42nd. So, the number of presidents between Clinton and Fxjkhr is 17, multiplied by 5.5 is 93.5 years. The closest presidential election year would be 2092.
So I conclude that Fxjkhr the Eater of Puny Humans will become president sometime around 2093, probably during the elections of 2092 or 2096.
Just think... there are people alive now who may well become victims of this famous president!
