(I was going to call it "A Brief History of Fry", but that one's better off saved for the third segment of 2ACV16, don'cha think?)

One of Fry's friends from the 20th Century has a big "1" on his shirt: he's one of quite a few other background characters who have worn numbers on their shirts since the first season, including the mysterious Number 9 Man.

I can't make out the alien language at the race track.

It's about time we saw some real flashbacks into Fry's past, and his "decent, hard-working" parents. Was Yancy made up just for this episode, or did the writers know Fry had a brother all along? He didn't mention any siblings when he first came to the future; only his parents, co-workers and girlfriend.

Well, before I go I must at least make a few comments on the brilliance of Futurama when it comes to stories, characters, jokes of all types, and weird continuity. Said brilliance is undeniable ... by me. Well, having made those few comments, I must return to the future (i.e., the present day) from whence I came.

Well, obviously they knew he had some kind of sibling, or how else do you explain Prof. Farnsworth?

Man, I wish I had taped tonight's episode, but I didn't think the last few have been that great and I'm trying not to compulsively tape everything I watch so...

It was kind of implied that he had at least one brother or sister considering farnsworth is his great great great.............great nephew.

"It's clovering time" a clear reference to The Thing in Marvel Comic's "It's clobbering time."

you're quite right, and I thought Fry's brother's name, Yancy, was also a Thing reference, as his most hated foes are not Doctor Doom or Mesmero, but rather those spiteful and insulting kids on Yancy Street.
