Are production delays to blame?

I remember when The Simpsons' first season eps were completed and shown back in 1990, they just kept running them over and over until the new season began, and that probably wasn't till October of that year. I wonder how many unseen Futuramas are ready to air, and if there are enough to last the rest of this season if they start with February and show them nonstop till June. This surely is a pretty difficult series to crank out as animated prime time efforts go, and it makes me wonder if they're having trouble getting them out in time.

David X. Cohen said all of the season 3 episodes have long been completed. They're working on season 4 now but it doesn't seem like we'll get to see them until season 5 starts.

Assuming they will order a season 5. But by now im sure more then half of the 4ACV** episodes are done and sitting with the rest of the 3ACV** at FOX.
